9/11 Youth Day of Service

YOUTH! Be a civic leader and take action on 9/11 Day! Volunteer your time and talents - virtually - to serve Charlotte-Mecklenburg on September 11.

GenerationNation is partnering with Youth Service America, Corporation for National and Community Service and local organizations to mobilize the power of youth service to honor this moment in our nation’s history. By serving in your community, YOU can help transform 9/11 into a day of unity, empathy, and service as an enduring and positive tribute to those lost and injured, and the many who rose in service in response to the attacks on September 11, 2001.

In addition to the usual service projects and celebration events, we’re encouraging young people to become informed and engaged civic leaders. Through service, you can better understand and help to tackle root causes of issues impacting our community. Together, we can make a difference.

Sign up to receive information about this volunteer opportunity.

Our goal is 500 middle and high school youth contributing 500 acts of service on 9/11. GenerationNation is working with local partners to create a toolkit of virtual service projects that can be done at home by individual youth and youth in classes, clubs, student governments, out-of-school time organizations, and others.

Service hours will be provided to all youth who successfully lead and/or participate in a 9/11 project.
