Volunteer Opportunity:

Be a Mentor to Formerly Incarcerated Participants

City Startup Labs is happy to announce that we will be launching the next cohort of our Reentry Entrepreneurship Program (REEP) on May 17th. This program is focused on digital tech services and entrepreneurial training, and will prepare the participants to start their own business, begin a career as an entry-level tech employee or improve their value at their current job. This program is only open to formerly incarcerated or justice-involved persons.

As a compliment to our work with the REEP participants, we help to seed their social-capital with Accountability Partners (mentors). These volunteer Accountability Partners (APs) are attentive listeners, tasked with helping our participants navigate a rigorous process and the associated coursework, as well as making sure that they maintain their commitment to their futures. APs will be asked to commit to developing a relationship with our participants over the course of 6+ months of the program through weekly check-ins. You will also receive support for this role through regular meetings with other APs as well as CSL staff.

If this role appeals to you, pleaseapply and we will get back to you shortly. There will be an orientation in early May, and we will share that information with you closer to the event. Please reach out if you have any questions or would like more information.
