Birds to Words: Celebrating Nature the Wing Haven Way

Join us as we celebrate 50 years (1971-2021) of the Wing Haven Foundation with a special edition of our biennial two-day event, Birds to Words: Celebrating Nature the Wing Haven Way, highlighting our vision to inspire a passion for the natural world. Enjoy the national perspectives of two contemporary writers — ecophilospoher Lyanda Lynn Haupt and horticulturist Marta McDowell — through a virtual platform.

This golden anniversary symposium honors all three public gardens of Wing Haven: the roots of the original Wing Haven Garden & Bird Sanctuary cultivated as a haven for the birds; the scientific and literary contributions of the Elizabeth Lawrence House & Garden; and the environmental promise of the future demonstrated through exploration in the new, hands-on SEED Wildlife & Children’s Garden.
