(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) – SHARE Charlotte’s 3rd annual SummerSHARE campaign, presented by Bank of America, ran for two weeks in July, encouraging Charlotteans to buy the items needed by local nonprofits to keep their offices and summer programs going. Charlotte rallied together and bought 5,300 items for the 116 participating nonprofits.
(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) – SHARE Charlotte’s second annual SummerSHARE campaign ran from July 11-22, rallying the community together to purchase 4,280 tangible items valued at $34,197 for 77 nonprofit partners, exceeding the initial goal of 3,000 items and blowing away last year’s number of 1,014 items for 49 nonprofit partners.
“Charlotte is so awesome,” says SHARE Charlotte Founder and Executive Director, Kelly Brooks. “When we, as a community, rally around the common goal of doing good, we deliver every time. Thank you to everyone who gave need a vacation this summer!”
Have you heard the phrase “restoring faith in humanity”? I have! Many times, actually. And thanks to a recent visit to Hope Haven, my faith has been restored. I had the opportunity to visit Hope Haven in June and in addition to being very meaningful, the experience also dispelled some stereotypes I had in mind.
The time to help is RIGHT NOW, Charlotte neighbors! SummerSHARE (July 11-22) is here and our 77 nonprofit partners are in need of items to continue doing good work to make Charlotte better and stronger. Here’s what you can do to be a part of SummerSHARE:
Shop - Yes, we said shop! Visit www.summershare.org and browse items nonprofits have designated off their wish lists. With a few simple clicks those items will be delivered right to our nonprofit partners’ doorsteps. It’s THAT easy.
(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) – Summer is the time of greatest need for many of our city’s nonprofits and SHARE Charlotte strives to make it the hottest season of giving with its 2nd annual SummerSHARE campaign. SummerSHARE (#summershareCLT) will run July 11-22 to support over 75 local nonprofits with the goal of raising over 3,000 of the partner organizations’ most needed items.
Last year SHARE introduced SummerSHARE to increase giving in the summer because, as they have coined, “need doesn’t get a vacation.” SHARE believes it’s important to support nonprofits throughout the year and not only during winter months when need may seem more apparent. Last summer’s efforts yielded over 1,000 items for 49 of Charlotte’s nonprofit organizations.
Summer is a tough time for many nonprofits. While the needs of their clients and programs may rise, giving is often down. #summershareCLT - which is the first campaign of its kind in Charlotte - will give everyone a chance to send need on a vacation!
We hope you'll join us, along with 49 local nonprofits who are working to make our community even more amazing!
