Some call it stories. Others call it a blog. But here you will find nuggets of goodness to use and -- you guessed it -- SHARE!

DO GOOD Week is Over, the Impact is Not

National Volunteer Week, known locally as DO GOOD Week is a time to focus on the ways in which we can give GOOD to our community through the gift of donated time. Check out the infographic to see how Charlotte volunteers activated during this year’s DO GOOD Week (April 15-21). It doesn’t matter how you give your time or when, just that you do.

DO GOOD Week concluded on Saturday,  April 21st with SHARE Charlotte’s signature VolunBEERing event at NoDa Brewing Co. Watch the video below for a recap of all the GOOD that happened at VolunBEERing:

Charlotte Nonprofits Are Saying...

Elizabeth, Allegro Foundation:
“I was incredibly impressed with the generosity of the volunteers! The support from our partners helps us to continue offering our movement education classes for FREE to children living with disabilities.. We had between 75-100 of our “thank you” stars completed by volunteers on Saturday. It was perfect, because I can only imagine how long that would have taken me on my own.”

Erik, The Center for Community Transitions:
“We talked to a couple whose brother (of the husband) had been incarcerated for 10 years and was just getting released in South Carolina and could use services like our. I encouraged him to reach out to the United Way of South Carolina and see who they fund that helps with reentry. Awesome to be able to provide individual with resources .”

Karla Emery, Crisis Assistance Ministry
“Crisis Assistance Ministry exists because of the generosity of volunteers who saw a need in the community and came together to fill it decades ago. That’s why it’s so exciting to see people from all walks of life staying engaged through efforts like Do GOOD Week. As a result, the community is a stronger, healthier place for all families to pursue economic opportunity.”

DO GOOD Week Corporate Partners are saying…

Jennifer Dewitt, Duke Energy:
“Duke Energy has been part of the community for more than 100 years and we have a legacy of giving back…we learned about do good week it just seemed like a natural fit – to sponsor and give back and make sure community do so as well.”

Marcus Rabun, Myers and Chapman:
“We have a  lot of employees who do a  lot of different things and they always say I want to get involved in the community- can you tell us something we can do – and getting involved with share clt helped us put a whole lot of opportunities in front of them not only as teams but as individuals.”

VolunBEER-ers are saying…

Dejan Lazic, Volunteer:
“It was an awesome event- I am glad that I got to feel like I did something good with my Saturday by helping out a few different  nonprofits  in one afternoon and had  fun doing it. VolunBEERing is really cool concept and I am so glad I came out to be a part of it.”

Ron Coleman, Volunteer
“It’s an amazing day, my boys really enjoyed it. They know that everything is going to the families that need it, going to people who need it. I think them giving back and me making sure that the message of them giving back is ingrained in their minds is most important.”
