Volunteer Opportunity:
OMA: Opening Minds Through Art

This opportunity has passed.

Opening Minds through Art (OMA) is an award-winning, evidence-based, intergenerational art-making program for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of neurocognitive disorders. Its failure-free program provides opportunities for creative self-expression and social engagement for people with dementia. OMA also provides volunteers with opportunities to improve their attitudes toward aging through the weekly interaction with OMA program participants. By signing up you are letting us know you are interested in becoming an OMA Volunteer. Once we have a few volunteers signed-up we will pick a day that works best for the group. We will partner you with one of our Cuthbertson Village residents and meet weekly for 7 weeks engaging and assisting your partner in different art projects. Week 1 will be an orientation to the OMA Art Program and a sample art project for you to do.
