CBT for Children & Adolescents with Anxiety Disorders

An anxiety disorder can affect people of all ages, including children. In fact, anxiety disorders are the most common type of mental health disorder in children, affecting as many as ten percent of young people. This workshop will be led by Christian F. Mauro, PhD, Assistant Professor at Duke University Medical Center and Director of Outpatient Services for Children and Families for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Mauro will help clinicians 1) identify and accurately diagnose children with anxiety disorders; 2) understand the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); 3) learn how to implement CBT effectively with children with anxiety; and 4) understand how families are involved in the treatment process. Registration is $115 until November 30. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
