What We Do
Our mission is to provide access to each other and to nature through a network of trails.
The Carolina Thread Trail is a developing regional network of connected greenways, natural surface trails and blueways that reaches 15 counties and 2.3 million people. There are over 300 miles of trail and greenway and over 170 miles of blueway open to the public with 1,600 miles planned for the purpose of recreation, transportation and conservation.
The Thread Trail preserves our natural areas and is a place for exploration of nature, culture, science and history. This is a landmark project that provides public and community benefits for everyone, in every community. The Thread Trail is providing a community and conservation legacy that will give so much, to so many, for so long.
IMPACT OF COVID-19 - SPECIFIC NEEDS:
How We Are Impacted:
Out of an abundance of caution, we have made the decision to work from home and suspend ALL volunteer activity until further notice. This also means that we have less help on the trails that are currently being heavily used.
With the increased traffic on our network's trails as people seek solace, enjoyment and exercise during this time, there is also a greater need for management of these trails to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all users.
How You Can Help:
Over these next few weeks as more people are getting outside to enjoy the warm weather, would you consider helping us by either making a gift to help steward your local outdoors or consider purchasing item(s) from our Wish List, the links are provided below:
• Be Here for Nature: Make a donation by visiting https://www.carolinathreadtrail.org/donate to help cover the added cost of trail maintenance and additional miles for you to enjoy.
• Purchase Wish List items: See our Amazon Wish List below, and a full list of our needs at https://a.co/e0UsiTo. (Our staff will be accepting all deliveries outside of the doors to the Carolina Thread Trail office).
