What We Do

On Eagles Wings (OEW) is a 16-year-old 501c3 working to prevent children/youth from falling victim to sex trafficking, offering assistance to those still trapped, and restoring those that have survived by offering HOPE, EMPOWERMENT, and a BRIGHTER FUTURE. We have served over 700 exploited and trafficked youth ages 6-26.

AFTERCARE - OEW Hope House® launched in 2009 as the Carolinas' first residential care program for young female victims of sex trafficking, offering a holistic, trauma-informed model of care. Survivors receive long-term housing, 24-hour care, individualized medical & mental health treatment plans with access to immediate medical/mental health care, individualized education/career plans and support to complete their program, mentors, a comprehensive life skills curriculum, and social & recreational activities that allow them to heal.

EMPOWERMENT - Fields of Hope® – Developed and launched in 2013, this comprehensive life skills curriculum and work empowerment program for survivors offers paid, educational fellowships to participate in a yearlong curriculum focused on professional development and leadership, with paid internships after that. Survivors make a variety of handmade products that are sold online.

PREVENTION - Youth4Abolition® (Y4A) – OEW's chapter-based prevention program, led by high school and college students, was developed and launched in 2014 in western NC and has since reached over 15,000 chapter and event participants in the Carolinas, been contextualized for use in two other countries, and has expansion underway in other states. Y4A's award-winning curriculum is offered via peer-to-peer clubs in high schools, colleges and universities, group homes, churches, and community outreach settings. Y4A's student leadership model helps young people protect themselves and their peers and become the next generation of abolitionists. Y4A clubs often reach out to serve and support crime victims and engage in advocacy. Paid college internships are offered to the elite group of top Y4A leaders each year.
