What We Do
Feeding Charlotte collects fresh, unserved, surplus meals from restaurants, caterers and institutions and delivers the meals to local nonprofits who feed the hungry in order to reduce food waste and ease hunger. It's a simple solution to complex problems. Chefs with excess prepared foods contact Feeding Charlotte and package it to be picked up. Food Rescue Driver volunteers from Feeding Charlotte collect the food and deliver it to partner organizations feeding hungry neighbors. Instead of being added to the landfill where unused food will cause methane gas production, this food is instead shared with food insecure individuals in our community. We think that's a win-win!
