What We Do
We believe there is no one-size-fits-all model to solving a community's problems, our solutions and impact are as diverse as the communities we serve. We start with listening, and work with community leaders and members to co-create holistic solutions to sustainably solve issues at the root cause. To date we have funded over 60 projects in the areas of healthcare, education, orphan care, housing, food and water security, and human rights. These projects have helped improve the the livelihoods of 150,000 people in Tanzania, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Guatemala, Ethiopia and India.
Mama Hope partners with communities around the globe and supports them to generate local sustainable sources of income so they no longer have to be dependent on the aid community for their livelihood. This helps them to lead more self directed futures, uplifting locally sourced solutions as a means to break out of poverty. Seeing great success in developing countries, in 2016 we piloted our work here in Charlotte in the Grier Heights Neighborhood, to develop a youth entrepreneurship program out of which emerged a business that will generate income to support local youth. In the fall of 2017 we launched a partnership with the Lakewood Community in order to support community engagement, collaborative partnerships and youth programming.
