What We Do

Men’s Shelter of Charlotte’s mission is to provide safe emergency shelter while working to end homelessness for each man. Our work begins by offering very basic stability through shelter and food. These basics set the stage for opportunity and growth through our program services, which focus on increasing a guest's income and identifying housing, two sides of the same coin of ending homelessness.

Interesting Info

We opened in 1981 as an emergency winter shelter after three men tragically died as a result of winter conditions.
Last fiscal year, 2009 men stayed in our shelter for at least one night.
Last year, 321 men moved home, ending their experience with homelessness.
