What We Do

Project One helps motivated students from low-income, single parent homes successfully navigate their college journey, acquire essential skills for long-term career success, and graduate without the burden of significant loan debt. Our programming is specifically designed to leverage higher education as a pathway to social and economic mobility, with an overarching goal to break generational cycles of poverty for the scholars we serve and their families.

Project One accomplishes this through four core services:

  1. Financial Support provides eligible scholars with funds that bridge the gap between federal student aid and the cost of tuition so that scholars can graduate debt free; helping to break the poverty cycle and support career growth.
  2. Mentorship Support matches scholars with career professionals who provide guidance and support through their academic experience.
  3. Career Guidance provides scholars with guidance and development of their unique gifts and talents and support in choosing a career path.
  4. Financial Literacy provides scholars with an understanding of personal finance management, developing skills that can be used throughout their lifetime.
Interesting Info
