What We Do
Promise Resource Network is a grassroots non-profit organization that uses the voice, experience and resilience of people who have overcome trauma, mental health and substance use challenges, as well as related barriers to elevate recovery and wellness. Guided by SAMHSA’s 8 Dimensions of Wellness, PRN is changing the way people impacted by mental health challenges, substance use and trauma are understood and treated.
Through community initiatives, PRN offers free, open access supports, resources, information and opportunities to foster recovery and ignite social change.
Driven by shared recovery experience, PRN challenges and supports others to transcend labels, systems and imposed limitations to build a life and identity that moves beyond surviving to thriving.
Since 2006, the PRN team has worked to advance recovery-based practices, policies, attitudes, and systems in the US and abroad. Psychiatric rehabilitation, family preservation and reunification, self-determination, recovery, and peer support are at the forefront of this shift and PRN is proud to be leading this movement in Mecklenburg County.
