Volunteer Opportunity: Summer Camp Exercise Class Leader/Assistant
Make a difference this summer—get kids moving, healthy, and having fun!
We're looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers to lead or assist with exercise and fitness classes for kids and teens at our summer camp. This is a great opportunity to promote wellness, share your love of fitness, and create a fun, active environment for campers.
What You’ll Do:
As an Exercise Class Volunteer, you’ll help plan and lead physical activity sessions that are safe, age-appropriate, and engaging. Depending on your interest and experience, you can:
Lead Activities:
- Teach or demonstrate basic exercise routines, stretching, or dance-based workouts.
- Guide fun fitness games (relay races, obstacle courses, tag games, circuit training).
- Lead warm-ups and cool-downs before and after other camp activities.
Assist Instructors:
- Help set up equipment and keep activities organized.
- Motivate and encourage campers during exercises.
- Ensure safety and positive behavior during sessions.
Bring Your Talents!
- Share yoga, Zumba, martial arts, or sports-specific skills.
- Create themed workout sessions (e.g., superhero workouts, nature hikes, or music-led movement).
- Help campers track progress or set fitness goals in a fun, non-competitive way.
Requirements:
- Enjoy working with kids and creating a positive, inclusive environment.
- Be comfortable with physical activity and leading by example.
- Ability to work outdoors and adapt to group energy levels.
- Experience in fitness, coaching, or childcare is a plus but not required—just bring your enthusiasm!
Time Commitment:
- Flexible scheduling available during camp hours (typically weekday mornings or afternoons).
- You can volunteer for a day, a week, or the full summer—whatever fits your schedule.
Why Volunteer?
- Inspire healthy habits in the next generation.
- Gain experience in youth leadership, fitness instruction, or education.
- Be part of a fun, supportive community this summer.
