Volunteer Opportunity:
Scholar Mentors - Mentors for Mom Program
I'm Interested!

Mentors need to be able to commit to one year of service when they choose to volunteer.

One of the most impactful things we do for our scholars is connect them with a volunteer mentor through our Mentors For Mom (MFM) program. Mentors offer scholars support and guidance on balancing family, work and school. Scholars meet regularly with their mentors for advice, motivation, or simply a sounding board. Scholars and mentors convene 6 times during the school year as a group where they share experiences and learn from experts on essential topics, such as financial planning and career planning. Our graduation rates are double the national average, and you can be the person who helps a mom change her life!

We thoughtfully assign each mentor to one scholar with whom they will engage at monthly Mentors For Mom meetings as well as connect with at least once a month through a text, phone call, email, or meeting.

Mentors should have at least an associate degree and an interest in helping mothers in college thrive.  Mentors have the opportunity to develop a strong connection and friendship with their mentee as they help them navigate college life as a non-traditional student.  This mentorship will require a 10-12 hour commitment each month.
