Recruitment Volunteer

Role: Recruitment  

Type: Volunteer 

Timeframe: Approx. 3-5 hours a month. Due to the resources required to bring volunteers on and the nature of this mission, Brave Step requests volunteers aspire to commit for one year.  

 
Mission 
Brave Step empowers individuals who have been impacted by sexual violence. To shape a strong, supportive community, we provide personalized services that help adults impacted by sexual violence claim the life they deserve; foster brave public conversations about sexual violence; and cultivate courageous changemakers. 

Opportunity 

Brave Step is seeking a passionate volunteer with an outgoing personality to magnify Brave Step’s mission.  The Recruitment Volunteer will work to recruit new volunteers via online volunteer platforms, community outreach, and the development of job descriptions. The Recruitment volunteer will work collaboratively with the Volunteer Committee to increase Brave Step’s volunteer network and maximize volunteers’ skillset. 

Responsibilities 

  • Create engaging ways to recruit volunteers through social media, marketing, etc.  
  • Help form any volunteer job descriptions  
  • Participate in community outreach towards volunteer-focused organizations, etc.  
  • Assist in leading Orientation for new and interested volunteers 
  • Assist Brave Step in gaining and maintaining community support by leveraging personal and professional contacts whenever possible 
  • Meet with the Volunteer Committee to operate and strengthen Brave Step’s volunteer network   

Required Qualifications & Competencies 

  • Is responsive and a good communicator 
  • Has the ability to engage and inspire others 
  • Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills  
  • Digital/social media skills required working with various social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. 
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
