The Arts Empowerment Project provides high-quality arts programming, enrichment experiences, and social emotional development for children in need of access to light, hope, equity, and opportunity, which together offer paths to resilience. 

We are currently seeking summer interns (high school juniors/seniors and college students) to support our programming for youth including Free Arts, Encounters, HeART Packs, Promoting Peace & Justice, and Culinary Camp! 

Excellent opportunity for students with career interests in Arts & Culture, Education, Nonprofit, Public Service, Marketing, Communication, Operations, and more! 

Job Description 

  • Work with our dynamic team at Charlotte’s Visual and Performing Arts Center (VAPA) in Uptown. 

  • Support the Program Director and Marketing Consultant  

  • Collaborate with team members, partners, volunteers and students to ensure effective and efficient program delivery and continuous quality improvement 

  • Assist with the facilitation of trauma-informed, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lesson plans 

  • Analyze program trends, identify issues, and develop and recommend solutions to the Program Director 

  • Provide support at programming, fundraising and community events as needed
