Volunteer Opportunity:

Raptor Rescue Team

Raptor Rescuers respond to calls about injured raptors. They are trained to retrieve the bird, secure it safely, and transport it to the Raptor Center Medical Facility.

--Respond to calls from the public about injured birds
--Observe injured raptor's behavior
--Retrieve injured raptors
--Safely transport raptors to the Raptor Center Medical facility

Because the birds at the Raptor Center are wild animals, we try to limit human and bird interactions. In order to decrease stress on the patients, Raptor Rescuers and staff handle the birds as little as possible.

Raptor Rescue Team is a year round volunteer program for ages 16 and up.

Before they can volunteer, potential RRT volunteer MUST:
--Complete an application online
--Successfully pass an interview
--Attend the mandatory training

To learn more details and apply to the program please visit http://www.carolinaraptorcenter.org/volunteer/adult-volunteers/raptor-rescue-team/.

Applications are only received through the Raptor Center website listed above. The "Apply to Volunteer" button on this SHARE Charlotte page will only generate an inquiry about the program that will be sent to the Volunteer Manager at the Raptor Center.
