Remembering 1619

Did you know that 1619 marks the year that the first Africans arrived in America as indentured servants?

Whether you answered yes or no, we invite you to grab a seat around the table and join us for a deep dive into the history of the evolution of slavery in America. We will begin the conversation around the question: What has your personal educational experience been like in relation to slavery?

Dr. Willie Griffin will be joined by Thomas Clark to discuss the history of indentured servitude, the transitioning into slavery, and the significant impact of these institutions during the past 400 years.

Tickets are $10 and include program, light bites, and a cash bar.
