Safe Place Site Check Volunteer
The Relative’s Safe Place program connects at-risk youth between the ages of 7-17 to The Relative’s Youth Crisis Center through community partner Safe Place sites. Any business or organization that chooses to become a Safe Place site is trained to know how to connect a youth in need to our Crisis Center through a direct referral process. Crisis counselors arrive on scene at any Safe Place site where a youth is in need of assistance.
Volunteers 18 +:
• Assist with site checks: visit Safe Place sites in Mecklenburg and surrounding counties to ensure the best care of youth needing assistance in the community; the volunteer is supplied with a site check form that identifies if all signage is placed appropriately and that the staff is familiar with the procedure; 10-20 mins per site plus travel
• Volunteers can be matched with sites most convenient to their location & training is provided
Volunteers (no age restriction):
• Assist with entering Safe Place site check information into the database
