Photographers see things many of us do not see. They bring vision and perspectives often missed. They capture moments, memories and can elicit emotion out of us in one single image.

Charlotte native David Gelbert finds unique views of the city and its residents to share.

“Giving back and supporting my community are both extremely important to me because there is enough hate in the world already,” Gelbert said. “What better place to spread smiles and support than your own backyard.”

Last year, Gelbert supported SHARE Charlotte’s spotlight on homelessness by taking photographs at Urban Ministry Center

He also took the amazing skyline photo of our city that you might have seen throughout last year’s #GivingTuesdayCLT.

“I don't have a specific cause that I draw towards more than another,” Gelbert said. “I just want to see the good be spread throughout, no matter the cause or place.”

Thank you, David, for your dedication to Charlotte and helping to bring awareness to our nonprofits.
