Can you believe it’s almost a wrap for 2016? And what a year it’s been! SHARE Charlotte’s #GivingTuesdayCLT campaign raised $7.2 million for 174 local nonprofits! We are SO grateful for all who gave to give a boost to Charlotte’s nonprofit community. It’s awesome to feel that true sense of community at a time when we all need it.
And now, we’re just ONE week away from Christmas and while there’ll be lots of feasting and present unwrapping and LOTS of family together time … there’ll be LOTS of family together time! Two weeks with the kiddos home from school and I know I’ll be searching for ways to avoid the “B” word … boredom!
As we all get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it's easy to lose sight of what's important. If you're looking for easy, meaningful ways to give back this holiday season, here are a few Charlotte nonprofits who could use a hand:
Created by Social Venture Partners (SVP), the annual SEED20 program identifies, spotlights and supports 20 of our region’s most innovative ideas for tackling pressing social challenges. They receive two months of feedback and mentoring before SEED20 OnStage on March 27, 2017.
SEED20 OnStage is a high-energy event where up to ten members of the Class of 2017 compete to win cash awards by making three-minute pitches to a panel of judges and members of our community. Prizes range from $5,000 to $20,000. To attend SEED20 OnStage, get your tickets now.
(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) – Today, local nonprofit SHARE Charlotte announced the total value of donations raised during its 3rd annual #GivingTuesdayCLT giving campaign: $7.2 million! The unveiling took place at Unknown Brewing Co this morning; NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon, Mayor Jennifer Roberts, Wells Fargo’s Kristi Thomas, Google Fiber’s Jess George, Jamie McDonald of the national Giving Tuesday team and SHARE founder Kelly Brooks spoke of their unique perspectives on the campaign.
This holiday season 2ULaundry’s Winter Warm Up campaign is rallying the community to gather over 15,000 pounds of donated new and/or lightly used winter essentials for Charlotteans in need. During this incredibly busy time it’s often hard to determine which organization is going to make the best use out of what we have to offer and it's even tougher to determine drop-off times and locations. This is what makes The Winter Warm Up so great!
