#GivingTuesdayCLT 2021

What is #GivingTuesdayCLT?
GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement that unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and our world. Created in 2012 as a simple idea - a day that encourages people to come together and do good - this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity each year.

#GivingTuesdayCLT, is powered by SHARE Charlotte, and is Charlotte’s local response to this global movement.  Now in its eighth year,  #GivingTuesdayCLT is an unprecedented collaboration of hundreds of Charlotte nonprofits as well as corporations, local businesses, community organizations and individuals coming together through good.  #GivingTuesdayCLT has influenced more than $31M in value given to Charlotte nonprofits and inspired over 29K new donors.   #GivingTuesdayCLT in 2021 - Together we Give!
Generosity is an antidote to isolation, fear and division.  On Tuesday, November 30th, #GivingTuesdayCLT is an opportunity to come together to take action for our community.  Generosity looks  different for everyone  and we invite our  neighbors to give their time, talent, dollars, network, or influence to their favorite (or a new!) local nonprofit.  Together, we can create a community of hope and inclusivity.

On Nov. 30th our community will be invited to visit givingtuesdayclt.org to:
   - Give Money:  Visitors can make a financial gift to an organization that is meaningful to them
*BONUS GOOD- The first 300 donors who give $50 or more to their favorite nonprofit on November 30th through givingtuesdayclt.org will have their donation generously matched by Lowe’s in the form of one $50 electronic gift card!

   - Give Time : Visitors can choose from hundreds of ways to give their time either virtually or in-person.

   - Give Goods: Visitors can shop nonprofits’ Amazon wish lists and give them exactly what they need.
#BizGivesCLT:  The Charlotte Business Journal and SHARE Charlotte have partnered to create #BizGivesCLT, an annual event dedicated to celebrating local philanthropy. This event will recognize businesses that support local nonprofits on #GivingTuesdayCLT in 5 categories. The winners will be featured in the 12/17 edition of CBJ, click here for more details.
  About SHARE Charlotte
We are building a better Charlotte by empowering nonprofits and helping people invest in their communities in ways that matter most to them. We do this by providing a one-stop shop to engage with over 500 Mecklenburg County nonprofits at sharecharlotte.org, and by connecting our nonprofit partners to valuable local resources and opportunities. We envision a Charlotte united through GOOD!
