Meet Our #GivingTuesdayCLT Crowdfunders!

SHARE Charlotte began as an idea by Kelly Brooks, and for five years she has been reliant on word of mouth and organic reach. The only reason SHARE has sustained the test of time is because of the support from the community. SHARE has been able to rally Charlotte toward a common goal of supporting the nonprofits and GOOD work happening to make our city a stronger place.

So, how do you maintain your current following while also growing your community? This has been a crucial topic on deck for all small and medium-sized organizations, especially those that use social media to engage with their supporters. This super economical tool is great, but many platforms now require brands to pay in order to get in front of even their own fans. So, the question is, how do you engage your current community and expand beyond it?

There are probably about 401 answers to this question, but for #GivingTuesdayCLT, we’ve honed in on the concept of crowdfunding. What is it? In short, it’s a short-term community-focused digital campaign that is led by an individual with a certain goal. The idea: to engage people with a large and/or different following from SHARE’s to inspire them to DO GOOD while also spreading the word about the campaign.

From Nov. 14-28, we have some very special Charlotteans raising funds for a campaign nonprofit of their choice to help them reach their goals, fund their programs and more!
