Dottie Rose Foundation

Event:
Smart Girls Squad

Smart Girls HQ, in partnership with the Dottie Rose Foundation, is hosting four cohorts of the Smart Girls Squad program in the 2023/2024 school year. The program is designed to offer engaging STEM activities and build knowledge and self-efficacy for fifth-grade girls. Modules include career exploration as a Scientist, Engineer, Designer, Maker, and Explorer, culminating with a final module where girls will develop a plan to solve a real-life problem and present their ideas to a panel of judges.

Our STEM coaches guide our future innovators through a year of engaging curriculum! You can join us for one program day or several. For each one, you will be prepared with all the info you need to support our team as we teach and facilitate the curriculum. Your job will be to help your team answer questions, troubleshoot any problems, and keep them on track.

In addition, we would love to invite you to share your career story on a panel during one of our six modules during the school year. Your personal experiences help bring much-needed context to the real-world value of the new skills and exposure they acquire during our program.

Our fall volunteer dates are currently open. Program days will begin on October 6th and wrap up with presentations and a farewell ceremony in the Spring.
