We believe that "a rising tide lifts all boats", so we create community campaigns that rally Charlotte around socially positive movements. Hundreds of local nonprofits come together to share the critical work they’re doing and why they need everyone’s help.
#GivingTuesday is celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely-recognized shopping events, Black Friday and Cyber Monday - kicking off the charitable season. #GivingTuesday has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for nonprofits worldwide since it's inception in 2012.
Powered by SHARE Charlotte, #GivingTuesdayCLT is Charlotte's local response to this global movement. It is an unprecedented collaboration of hundreds of Charlotte nonprofits as well as corporations, local businesses, professional sports teams and community organizations working together for the greater good. Since 2015, #GivingTuesdayCLT has influenced more than $24M in financial value given to Charlotte's nonprofit community and inspired over 15,000 new donors. Summer is the biggest time of need for many Charlotte nonprofits, and a time when many people aren't thinking about giving back. SummerSHARE, created in 2015, is our July community-wide campaign that encourages our community to "shop for GOOD" by purchasing the tangible items that nonprofits need the most to run their businesses and their programs.
SummerSHARE has resulted in over 14,000 products being purchased for Charlotte nonprofits from Give Shop® Wish Lists they create and we collectively promote. Items get shipped directly to the nonprofit's door, and donors know exactly where their money is going.
In 2017, SHARE Charlotte created DO GOOD Week to highlight local volunteer needs during National Volunteer Week and to rally our community to DO GOOD by volunteering! DO GOOD Week is an opportunity to raise the level of awareness of nonprofit needs and inspire individuals to find volunteer opportunities (both skill-based and traditional hands-on) that are right for them. DO GOOD Week's signature event, VolunBEERing™ was a huge success - watch what we did!

Last year, guests included Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles, Charlie Elberson, Toussaint Romaine, Brian Collier and James Ford.
In 2018, SHARE hosted our inaugural annual Nonprofit Summit, a day-long gathering where Charlotte’s nonprofit leaders came together to learn, network, collaborate and innovate. SHARE is passionate about finding ways to build up Charlotte’s nonprofits by providing opportunities and resources to grow their presence in the community.
Last year, SHARE hosted a series of marketing classes for our nonprofit partners led by industry experts GMR Marketing. Topics included building a marketing plan, social media and events.
Before each campaign, SHARE provides each organization with a thorough toolkit and an opportunity to gather in a workshop setting to ask questions and prepare. Did we mention we throw parties, too?

SCHOOL & CORPORATE PROGRAMS
With our hundreds of nonprofit and community partnerships SHARE Charlotte is uniquely positioned to develop integrated and robust service programs.
In 2013, SHARE developed a year-long service-learning program for Providence Day School's freshman class. Through the “Be the Change” program students were given a broad picture look at poverty in Charlotte. This unique opportunity began the students' journey to becoming empathic, engaged community citizens and helped them personally discover how they can make a difference no matter where they live. In 2016 we helped them build upon that freshman initiative as well as create an integrated, whole-school social responsibility program.
We love it when companies want to take bold steps to make an impact in our community! Local companies like Hart & Hickman and Positec turn to us to help them create intentional community services opportunities for their employees.
