What We Do

OUR COMMUNITY-WIDE GIVING CAMPAIGNS

SHARE Charlotte believes the rising tide lifts all boats, and there is tremendous power in Charlotte’s nonprofit community coming together to celebrate their impact and communicate their needs as part of one loud, community-wide conversation about good.

Powered by SHARE Charlotte, #GivingTuesdayCLT is the local response to the global GivingTuesday movement. It is an unprecedented collaboration of hundreds of Charlotte nonprofits as well as corporations, local businesses, community organizations and individuals coming together through good. #GivingTuesdayCLT has influenced more than $36M in gifts to Mecklenburg County nonprofits and inspired over 27,000 new donors.

On May 5, 2020 SHARE Charlotte also lead Charlotte's response to #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of giving as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic (learn more here).

Annually, Shop for GOOD encourages the Charlotte community to give back by purchasing the tangible items that nonprofits need most from their Amazon wish lists through our proprietary Give Shop®, an online marketplace that consolidates hundreds of local nonprofits’ Amazon wish lists. Donations of tangible items helps nonprofits save operational dollars and giving back in this way allows for a unique, fun and easy way to give back. Items get shipped directly to the nonprofit's door, and donors know exactly where their money is going.

Wish List Wednesday serves as a weekly reminder to the community that nonprofits need supplies to stay up and running 365 days a year. Wish List Wednesday allows SHARE Charlotte to highlight timely needs of local nonprofit partners throughout the calendar year (read how it got started here).

DO GOOD Week’s signature event, VolunBEERing™, provides our neighbors with the chance to complete hands-on volunteer projects for 20+ different local nonprofits all in one place while they enjoy a local brewery (see VolunBEERing™ in action).

In April 2020, SHARE Charlotte made the switch to DO GOOD Week - Home Edition, our local response to the COVID-19 pandemic where we spent one week amplifying the virtual volunteer needs of our noprofit partners so neighbors could #DoGoodFromHome.

SHARE SHINE™ gives our nonprofit partners exclusive access to SHARE Charlotte’s nonprofit programming including SHARE-a-Latte’s (intentional networking coffee and conversation) and business development workshops (featuring special guest instructors from a variety of industries).
