Charlotte Museum of History

Event:
2025 African American Heritage Festival

Get free admission to the Charlotte Museum of History to celebrate Charlotte's Black history and culture on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm. Our 2025 event is titled "Black Country" and will emphasize the Black experience in rural Mecklenburg County over time. Through performances, guest speakers, panels, and community-focused events for the whole family, we hope you can experience the richness of African American heritage and culture in the Charlotte region - and have fun while doing it! Last year's event saw more than 1100 people, and we know this year will be even better!

This year's featured guest speaker will be John Wesley Boyd, Jr., a fourth-generation farmer, civil rights activist and the founder of the
National Black Farmers Association (NBFA).
