Mindful Momentum: A Community Celebration

As Mental Health Awareness Week approaches, NAMI is excited to announce a community outreach series aimed at providing support and resources for families and friends impacted by mental health in partnership with YMCA of Greater Charlotte. This is the grand finale of a week-long series of activities dedicated to raising awareness and fostering community support.

A gathering where hearts connect and change begins. Featuring (3) food trucks, a DJ, poets, yoga sessions, a kids’ zone with activities, and (20) mental health vendors. Feel free to drop by, no registration needed. 

Featured Poet: Shane Manier is a Creative Coach, Visual Artist, Live Event Painter, Tedx and Keynote Speaker, Trauma Informed Care Instructor, Poetry Mentor and National Spoken Word Poet based in the Charlotte Metro Region of NC. She is the founder of The National Poetry Month Summit, and Guerilla Poets, a nonprofit art collective with branches in the US and UK.

She is currently an Arts Teaching Instructor for The Harvey B. Gantt Center, Henderson High School, The Arts Empowerment Project, Playing for Others, as well as Center for Faith and the Arts Visual Artist in Residence.

She is one of the few North Carolina live speed painters in the Charlotte Metro area and an Ultimate Painting Finalist for Regional Championship Live Speed Painting Competition. Furthermore, she has showcased four bodies of work through her residency at Center for Faith and the Arts, “Black Kings,” “This is Salisbury,” “All Art Must Be Destroyed?” and “Give Me A Name.”
