Introducing our unique summer camp experience that combines the fun of a traditional camp with the benefits of multi-disciplinary intensive therapy. At Shining Hope Farms, our Summer Intensive Therapy Camp utilizes the ConTiGO™ approach (Connection & Transformation in the Great Outdoors) to offer therapeutic and playful activities designed to enhance your child’s motor skills, social skills, and emotional well-being.

Why an Intensive Therapy Camp?
This is a unique opportunity for your child to experience the joys of summer camp in a safe environment while also receiving the benefits of intensive physical and occupational therapy. Our skilled ConTiGO™ trained therapists and supportive environment ensure a transformative experience that promotes growth and development in a fun and engaging way.
Who
Children ages 6-11 who could benefit from building motor coordination, confidence, self-regulation, and social skills in a supportive outdoor environment. The camp will include 2 therapists (an occupational therapist and a physical therapist), at least 1 aide, and up to 8 children.
Our camp is best structured for a child who:
- Can demonstrate body and safety awareness
- Communicate their needs to the therapist and others
- Walk continuously for 10 minutes
- Be able to follow simple directions
- Can stay within eyesight of the group during activities
If your child cannot do these things yet, we’d love to work with them in individual sessions to get them ready for participation in a group in the future!
While not all-inclusive some diagnoses/conditions/challenges that can benefit from our camp are:
- ADHD
- Autism
- Anxiety
- Sensory Processing Disorder
- Motor skill challenges
- Social-emotional challenges
Note: Applying for camp does not guarantee placement in camp. In a group therapy model, the overall goodness of fit for each child in the group is important. Since this is an intensive GROUP therapy camp model, groups are intentionally formed with therapeutic benefits for each child in the group and sometimes the current group formed does not support a child’s individual needs and goals.
Camp Activities
During the camp, your child will enjoy:

- Nature exploration and outdoor adventures
- Tree climbing and fort building
- Scavenger hunts and water play
- Open-ended creative activities
- Plenty of child-led free play exploration!
Our goal is to foster connections with peers and boost your child’s skills through 20 hours of intensive therapy in one week. Activities will take place in various outdoor locations around the farm, providing a rich and diverse environment for exploration and growth. Parents can rest assured that their children are in a safe environment with expertly trained therapists who know how to handle their needs.
