Event:
Governance 201: Perspectives on Racial Equity and Nonprofit Board Service

About

This interactive four-hour session builds on the foundational roles shared in "Nonprofit Board Service 101" and expands the discussion of the history and impact of American racial inequity on nonprofit organizations.

It will help organizations assess their readiness for equity work, map a path toward equity and belonging, and better understand the trust-conditions necessary for bold conversations, while inviting board members to find practical ways to advance equity within their own nonprofits.

This session includes time for participants to discuss the strategies and concepts of racial equity in small groups, building confidence to take knowledge back to their boards and shape more aware, inclusive and just organizations.

Who Should Attend?

Current board members and/or people interested in nonprofit board service but not yet serving on a board. Attendance in Nonprofit Board Service 101 preferred, but not required.
