What We Do
Our mission is to provide a safe, affordable, and caring "home-away-from-home" for families of children receiving treatment in Charlotte-area medical facilities.
Families are stronger when together, and this is never more important than when a child is sick or injured. We aim to provide a comfortable and supportive environment and offer nightly meals, weekly activities, a variety of guest services, and much more for our families during their stay.
IMPACT OF COVID-19 - SPECIFIC NEEDS:
How We Are Impacted:
Out of an abundance of caution, we have made the decision to suspend ALL volunteer activity until further notice. This also means that "Meal Teams" are suspended.
Typically, our Meal Teams graciously provide dinner seven days a week and breakfast twice a week for our 28 families. Staff will work hard to continue providing meals for our families and we are reaching out to local restaurant partners for assistance.
How You Can Help:
Would you consider helping us by either funding a meal for our families or consider purchasing item(s) from our Wish List, the links are provided below:
• Provide a meal: Make a donation by visiting rmhofcharlotte.org/househero to help cover the added cost of meals and other house operations during this time of heightened need.
• Purchase Wish List items: See our Amazon Wish List below, and a full list of our needs at https://www.rmhofcharlotte.org/wish-list.html. (Our staff will be accepting all deliveries outside of the doors to the RMH).
