Role Description: The Board Chairperson leads the board in governance and oversight of the organization. They ensure that the board operates effectively, supports the executive director, and upholds the mission and vision of Innovate Tech Charlotte.

Board Chairperson: Leads the board, ensures effective governance, supports the Executive Director.

Responsibilities:

• Lead board meetings and set agendas
• Oversee board member recruitment and development
• Act as a liaison between the board and the executive director
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards
• Represent the organization at public events and meetings

Experience:

• Previous board experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting
• Leadership experience in a related field (sustainability, AI, STEM, or leadership)
• Strong understanding of nonprofit governance
