Help guide a low-opportunity student and give them the gift of social capital. Share your expertise and resources to help student scholars access opportunities related to their academic major and career goals. In addition to general advice and coaching, mentors connect scholars with meaningful professional development opportunities such as job shadowing, internships, professional conferences and other networking opportunities. Volunteers will be matched with a student scholar between 17-21 who shares his/her professional interests with them and encourages them. Mentors will help students complete one project-based career activity per month over the course of the academic year. All opportunities and touches can be conducted virtually or in-person. The time commitment varies slightly by mentor pair and topic covered, but 2-4 hours/month is typical.
