We have revamped one of our first volunteer opportunities! An assistant supports the organization and execution of a financial workshop, managing materials, assisting attendees, and providing technical support to attendees and/or presenters to help ensure smooth and effective delivery of financial education sessions. Must be proficient with technology, Zoom, smart TVs, etc.
Responsibilities are, but not limited to, the following:
- Logistics: organize classroom and set-up materials to ensure everything is ready for the workshop
- Technical Support: assist attendees with completing Skyla applications (paper and/or digital) and answer questions about account startup, set-up Credit Karma accounts for a review of credit reports, and assist with technology in accessing necessary QR codes
- Availability: available to volunteer morning, afternoons, or evenings (there are no restrictions for volunteer times) at host sites around Mecklenburg County (a typical workshop runs 1-2 hours long, depending on the host site)
A small two-hour training is required to learn more in-depth about CWC's work and trauma-informed approach, along with basic technical training for setting up Skyla Credit Union accounts for clients.
Interested? Contact Tonia to RSVP for the next training session today!
Please note: volunteers who have previously participated in the CFE training classes do not need the full two-hour training for this role, but you will need an overview of Skyla accounts so please still email Tonia with your interest.
