The Echo Foundation is seeking a detail-oriented Archival Intern to help us organize documents, newspaper articles, and other materials filed throughout The Echo Foundation’s history. This role is ideal for a student or early-career professional interested in archival work, nonprofit administration, or library sciences. The intern will assess, categorize, and determine the best course of action for various records—deciding what should be kept, scanned, or responsibly discarded.

Responsibilities

  • Review and organize physical and digital records, including documents, newspaper articles, and program materials.
  • Determine the historical and operational value of materials and make recommendations on retention, digitization, or disposal.
  • Scan and digitally archive key documents to ensure long-term accessibility.
  • Maintain accurate records of archived materials and disposal decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with Echo Foundation staff to preserve institutional history.

Internship Details

  • Schedule: 15 hours per week; weekday daytime hours.
  • Location: In-person at The Echo Foundation office in Charlotte, NC.
  • Compensation: Unpaid; college credit may be available.
