Community Networking Volunteer

Overview:
First Gen Success is seeking a dynamic and outgoing volunteer to attend community networking events, helping to raise awareness about our mission and programs supporting first-generation students. This role provides an exciting opportunity to represent First Gen Success, build connections, and expand our community presence. The volunteer will assist with these efforts when available, supporting the team in enhancing our outreach and engagement within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend local networking events and community gatherings on behalf of First Gen Success to increase visibility and promote our mission.
  • Engage with attendees to raise awareness about First Gen Success and its programs for first-generation students.
  • Distribute marketing materials, such as brochures and flyers, to increase program visibility and inform potential supporters.
  • Report back with insights and feedback from events to help shape future engagement strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Comfortable attending events and speaking to individuals or groups about First Gen Success.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to represent First Gen Success professionally.
  • Enthusiasm for educational equity and supporting first-generation students.
  • Previous experience in networking, outreach, or community engagement is a plus but not required.

Time Commitment:

  • Flexible hours, based on availability and  event schedules.
  • No minimum hours required, but a consistent presence at key events is preferred.
