Friends of Feral Felines

We believe that every cat counts - even those felines without families (aka community cats). Most people don't know that kittens can get pregnant at 4 months of age, have their first babies at 6 months of age (can get pregnant while still nursing) and then have babies every 9 weeks. 

Unhoused and unaltered cats contribute to an endless cycle of kitten births in Charlotte, NC. Our goal is to stop this senseless cycle of suffering and death through TNVR*.

In 2022, Friends of Feral Felines volunteers began tracking data to report the number of community cats spayed an neutered. This is only a part of the story. The number of lives saved through prevention is astronomical, and this helps to alleviate suffering, too. We have data that tracks the number of calls to our hotline and other community outreach.

Friends of Feral Felines is currently an all-volunteer organization and receives minimal donations. In 2023, we received our very first grant for $15,000. This covers about a month and a half of spay/neuter subsidies. The requests for help exceeds our financial capabilities. We need YOU and your fundraising or grant writing skills to help us continue this important and lifesaving work.

If you have experience in either area and love researching to identify fundraising or grant opportunities, have a passion for making a difference in the lives of cats and people, are willing to take the lead in these important endeavors, we would love to hear from you!
