Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden

Volunteer Opportunity:
Garden Maintenance
I'm Interested!

Garden Maintenance is all about weeding, mulching and planting! This volunteer program is a weekly volunteer program that assists the horticulture team to maintain the beauty and health of Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. Weeding is an essential and continuous task that the horticulture staff cannot thoroughly accomplish without the help of our dedicated volunteers. Volunteers can except to get their hands in the soil, learn to identify certain weeds, use hand tools to weed garden beds and pathways, and connect with other garden loving members of their community. Since we are weeding, volunteers can expect to kneel or squat for long periods of time. 80% of the time we will be hand weeding, but occasionally we have tasks like raking, cutting back perennials, and planting annuals. No prior gardening experience is required.

You are welcome to stay for as long as you are able!
