Position Overview
The Grant Research Volunteer will assist the Director of Development in identifying and securing grant opportunities that align with Hack & Hustle’s mission to educate, expose, train, and mentor youth in state-of-the-art technologies to empower them to pursue careers in STEM fields and entrepreneurship. This role is ideal for someone passionate about youth development and eager to contribute to impactful programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Research potential grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and corporations that align with our mission.
- Analyze grant requirements and guidelines to ensure alignment with our programs.
- Compile and organize a list of relevant grants, including deadlines and funding amounts.
- Assist in drafting grant proposals and supporting documents as needed.
- Maintain an organized database of grant opportunities and applications.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development to develop strategies for approaching funders.
- Attend team meetings and contribute ideas for funding strategies and outreach efforts.
Qualifications
- Strong interest in youth workforce development, education, entrepreneurship, and STEM fields.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Familiarity with grant writing or fundraising is a plus but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
Commitment
- Flexible hours, approximately 5-10 hours per week.
- Identify a minimum of 3 potential grants in STEM and entrepreneurship weekly
- A minimum commitment of 3 months is preferred.
