Position Overview
The Social Media Content Volunteer will support our youth workforce development program by creating engaging content for our social media platforms. This role is essential for showcasing our mission to educate, expose, train, and mentor youth in state-of-the-art technologies and will focus on increasing our online presence and follower engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and create compelling content for social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, LinkedIn) that highlights program activities, success stories, and upcoming events.
- Collaborate with the team to identify key messages and themes aligned with our mission.
- Manage and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting.
- Analyze social media metrics and adjust strategies to enhance engagement and follower growth.
- Assist in brainstorming and implementing social media campaigns that promote our initiatives and events.
- Stay updated on social media trends and best practices to keep our content fresh and relevant.
Qualifications
- Experience in creating content for social media platforms and familiarity with best practices for engagement.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills, with an eye for visual content.
- Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Spark) is a plus.
- Passion for youth development, STEM education and entrepreneurship.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Proficient in using social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) is a plus but not required.
Commitment
- Flexible hours, approximately 5-10 hours per week.
- Adhere to the social media content posting schedule
- A minimum commitment of 3 months is preferred.
