Mission of Queen City Robotics Alliance (QCRA) - Nurturing the future workforce by providing practical and hands-on STEM experiences for local youth. Vision - That all students in the greater Charlotte area are equipped and prepared for their future paths. Description Team Mentors for QCRA will support the work of QCRA and support the First Robotics teams. Specific Team Mentor responsibilities include: - Know and understand the mission, policies, programs, and needs of QCRA - Representing QCRA and their own team to stakeholders; acting as an ambassador for the organization - Mentors can be parents, teachers, and any individual who can bring technical or non-technical expertise to a team. - Mentors can help a team in a variety of areas, including Finance, Marketing, Scholarship, Project Management, Recruiting, and many other areas as needed. - Technical Mentors can help with engineering, design, programming and other technical areas. Volunteering terms/participation Team Mentors for QCRA will be expected to register with FIRST NC and successfully complete their screening process including Youth Protection. All Mentors must be at least 18. Qualifications Team Mentors should have the following qualifications: - A commitment to and understanding of QCRA’s beneficiaries, preferably based on experience - Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the lives of QCRA’s beneficiaries Volunteering with QCRA’s is without remuneration.
