First Gen Success seeks passionate individuals to join our Scholar Development Committee as volunteers. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our mission of empowering first-generation college students. As a Scholar Development Committee Volunteer, you will support various aspects of scholar development, including program evaluation, mentor and scholar recruitment, continuous engagement, and organizing/facilitating group mentoring activities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in program evaluation processes to assess the effectiveness and impact of our programs.
- Contribute to mentor recruitment efforts to ensure scholars have access to valuable guidance and support.
- Participate in scholar recruitment initiatives to expand our reach and impact.
- Engage with scholars on an ongoing basis to provide encouragement, guidance, and resources.
- Organize and facilitate group mentoring activities to foster community and support among scholars.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for supporting first-generation college students.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups of individuals.
- Prior experience in mentoring, education, or related fields is a plus.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
Commitment:
- Flexibility in scheduling with a minimum commitment of 2 hours per month.
- Attendance at committee meetings and occasional training sessions.
