Volunteer Opportunity:
Sound Panel Weaving and Hand Weeding
I'm Interested!

We are diverting t-shirts from the landfills by weaving them into sound panels/dog beds, which we sell as a fundraiser to support the Innovation Barn. We are also a Certified Wildlife Habitat and do not use any chemicals on the property, so we have to pull any unwanted weeds or plants from the property by hand.  We have monthly shifts available on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 5-7pm and on the 4th Saturday of the month from 9-11am.  We will be either indoors or outdoors depending on the light, weather, and the needs for that day.  Make sure you wear comfortable shoes, weather appropriate clothes you don't mind getting dirty, and don't forget your refillable water bottle!  You can check our website calendar for availability and to sign up for a volunteer shift  by clicking HERE.

Our goal is to make 600 sound panels, which equates to 1 ton of textile waste diverted from the landfill! We are also protecting our honey bees, our local pollinators, and our living ecosystem. Will you help us ?

If you're interested in volunteering outside of the scheduled shifts, email: erica@envisioncharlotte.org to learn about scheduling other opportunities at the Innovation Barn!
