Position: Mentor

Commitment: Twice a week, 3:30 PM - 4:45 PM for 6 weeks in the spring and fall semesters

Role Overview: Talented Girls in Action is seeking dedicated female mentors to work with girls aged 12 to 18. We believe that mentors have the unique power to show young people that they are cared for, supported, and valued. By fostering these connections, mentors can guide young girls towards personal growth, development, and the achievement of their goals. We are looking for mentors who are passionate about today's youth and are committed to advocating for and guiding young girls through challenging situations.

  • Administer Character Development Curriculum: Lead and facilitate sessions focused on building strong character, leadership skills, and personal growth.
  • Twice-Weekly Meetings: Engage with your mentees every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 PM to 4:45 PM for 6 weeks between the months of September and October and again from  February to March.
  • Foster Positive Relationships: Establish trust and rapport with mentees, creating a supportive and nurturing environment.
  • Provide Guidance and Support: Offer advice, encouragement, and resources to help mentees navigate personal and academic challenges.
  • Track Progress: Monitor and document the progress of mentees, providing feedback and celebrating their achievements.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for Mentoring: A strong desire to mentor and support young girls in their personal and character development.
  • Effective Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with mentees and adapt to their individual needs.
  • Reliability and Commitment: Consistent attendance and engagement during the scheduled meeting times.
  • Experience in Youth Development (Preferred): Previous experience working with youth or in educational settings is a plus, but not required.
