Are you organized, flexible, and calm under pressure? Then the Red Cross Volunteer Duty Officer (volunteer dispatcher) might be something that interests you.
Duty Officers coordinate and monitor Red Cross Disaster Response. After receiving requests for assistance during a fire, flood, or other disaster, Duty Officers assess the situation and deploy the most appropriate resources to support recovery efforts. These resources include casework and recovery planning, canteen services, sheltering, and disaster assessment. Duty Officers ensure the response team has the necessary tools, knowledge, and resources to deliver quality services.
Time Commitment: Duty Officers commit to being on-call four shifts per month (shifts are six hours each). Training is required.
*Although this is a virtual position, volunteers must live within the Greater Carolinas region. Volunteers must also have reliable access to the internet.
