Many of our patients are on extremely limited incomes and have trouble affording basic necessities. We are asking Volunteers to donate (and/or collect from people or businesses you know in the community) items such as: deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, hand soap, body wash/soap, shampoo, over-the-counter first aid and pain relief medications, and other similar items. Many of our patients are also food insecure so small denomination gift cards to grocery stores are also appreciated. Higher-ticket items that are in demand are CATS bus passes, thermometers, blood pressure monitors, blood glucose monitors and diabetic testing strips, and compression garments. ***Have a passion for mothers and babies?*** The women being served in our Nurse-Family Partnership program are working hard to make a better life for themselves and their babies. Needed items include: breast pumps; monthly bus passes, self-care products, gift cards to grocery stores or retailers like Target or Wal-Mart. Having these items helps mothers who are dealing with the effects of poverty on top of the many challenges of having a newborn. Things such as bus passes to get to appointments, their job, or school, and self-care products to look their best give them a chance to be on-par with their peers and advance in life. Baby care items for children ages 0-2 such as diapers, wipes, safety equipment, car seats, high chairs, and educational toys are also greatly appreciated and needed. >>> Once you have gathered the items for donation, you can bundle them into individual care packages, or donate them in bulk for packaging and distribution to our patients. Items can be delivered to our administrative office M-F between 9 am and 5 pm. We would be happy to photograph you with your generous donation for sharing on our social media platforms.
