What We Do

Anuvia Prevention and Recovery Center is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) substance use and mental health treatment and prevention center in Charlotte, NC. Founded by the Mecklenburg ABC Board in 1958. Anuvia is CARF-accredited, recognized by the State of North Carolina for excellence, and is becoming the only  Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) in Mecklenburg County.  We offer a full continuum of services, including assessments, outpatient treatment, mental health treatment, DWI/Court services, and residential treatment. Anuvia also provides prevention and intervention programs to children and families to improve family communication,  and encourage protective factors such as pro-social activities, healthy relationships, good decision-making, and positive conflict management. We offer services on a sliding fee scale basis, and do not turn anyone away due to inability to pay; thus, we are a critical safety net for the most vulnerable in our community, and many of our clients are low-income.

Anuvia envisions a community where the impact of mental health challenges and addiction is significantly reduced because its members know where to turn for help and have access to the highest quality of care.  We achieve this mission by meeting individuals where they are and creating a person-centered plan for recovery that incorporates their individual goals. Anuvia is committed to collaborating and partnering with mental health and substance abuse service recipients, providers of services, public and private organizations and funding sources to provide prevention, education, advocacy, intervention, assessment and treatment services.

How You Can Help:

  • Financial Donations Requested: Anuvia impacts the lives of thousands of people each year. Your donation allows us to continue our life-saving work while removing financial barriers to care. Due to the increase in demand for substance use and mental health services, we need your support now more than ever.  Head to our website to make a donation to Anuvia today.

  • Material Donations: Anuvia's clothing and supply closet for residential clients has been depleted. We need feminine hygiene products, underwear, bras, socks and clothing for male and female clients, books, arts, crafts, puzzles, and games. You may donate gently used clothes, books, games, and crafts as well which can be dropped off at 429 Billingsley Road at anytime.
