Baran Dance

Baran Dance creates and presents contemporary dance experiences for a wide spectrum of artist and audience demographics. Through professional concert work in a variety of formats and venues as well as mentorship programs for emerging dance artists, we cultivate appreciation for and accessibility to contemporary dance throughout the Charlotte, NC and regional areas. Known for creative collaborations with local musical, visual, and literary artists, Baran Dance utilizes bold physicality and poignant nuance to craft a uniquely human experience for existing and unrealized dance fans. As a multifaceted nonprofit organization, we provide paid performance opportunities for professional artists, internships for university students, and mentoring for high school dancers. Through every aspect of our artistic and educational endeavors, Baran Dance is committed to elevating bodies and creative voices from diverse histories, particularly minority and female identifying movement artists, and works to further accessibility, inclusion, and equity in contemporary dance throughout the Southeast.
